Deck overview

This deck is a focused Izzet spellslinger combo-control list built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary win condition is assembling Niv-Mizzet with a damage-draw Aura such as Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Once attached, any card draw triggers a damage ping from Niv-Mizzet to an opponent, which triggers the Aura to draw another card, creating a self-sustaining loop that draws the deck and burns down the table in a single turn. The deck supports this plan with dense card selection, cost reducers, and an extensive suite of counterspells and cheap bounce spells to disrupt opposing threats and protect its combo pieces. While its mana curve requires heavy colored mana investment to deploy a 6-mana commander, the deck compensates with built-in uncounterability and backup win conditions like Glint-Horn Buccaneer.
