Deck overview

This deck is a specialized storm combo list commanded by Codie, Vociferous Codex. The entire construction exploits Codie's activated ability by including Profane Tutor as the only zero-mana instant or sorcery in the 99. Deploying Codie on Turn 2 enables an activation on Turn 3. Casting any one-mana instant or sorcery triggers Codie to exile cards until hitting Profane Tutor, immediately casting it without paying its mana cost. The tutor retrieves Peer into the Abyss. By using sacrifice-based one-drops like Burnt Offering, Sacrifice, or Culling the Weak, Codie is removed from the battlefield to lift its permanent-casting restriction while generating the mana needed to cast Peer. Drawing 40 or more cards fuels a storm sequence backed by Silence, closing the game on Turn 3 with Aetherflux Reservoir, Grapeshot, or Vivi Ornitier.
