Deck overview

This Athreos, God of Passage deck is a dedicated Shadowborn Apostle aristocrats strategy. It uses 29 copies of Shadowborn Apostle to create extreme opening consistency and fuel powerful sacrifice synergies. The deck's primary plan involves deploying Apostles during the early turns, then casting Thrumming Stone on turn 5 to ripple nearly every Apostle in the library directly onto the battlefield. From there, the deck tutors powerful Demons like Rune-Scarred Demon, Archfiend of Depravity, and Harvester of Souls to lock down opposing boards. Aristocrat payoffs like Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat convert Apostle sacrifices into lethal table-wide life drain. Mass reanimation spells, notably Angel of Glory's Rise and Immortal Servitude, provide rapid recovery and loop Apostles for game-ending burst damage. While vulnerable to early graveyard exile and fast non-creature combos due to light instant-speed interaction, the deck presents overwhelming board presence and resilient attrition against standard creature-based opposition.
