Commander: The Astonishing Ant-Man

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

This is a Simic +1/+1 counters deck helmed by The Astonishing Ant-Man, built around a dense "whenever you draw a card" payoff package. The commander grows off every draw and converts counters into Insect tokens, while a redundant suite of draw-trigger creatures - Baxter, Fly in the Ointment, Chasm Skulker, Iron Man, Armored Avenger, Kid Loki, and Krang, the All-Powerful - keeps the engine running even if the commander is answered. Counter doublers like Hardened Scales, Kami of Whispered Hopes, Ozolith, the Shattered Spire, Vorel of the Hull Clade, and Zimone, Paradox Sculptor explode the board, and token generators Adrix and Nev, Twincasters, Scute Swarm, and Iridescent Hornbeetle supply the swarm. The primary win is combat: Herald of Secret Streams makes countered creatures unblockable and Duskshell Crawler grants trample. A secondary Laboratory Maniac draw-out line exists via Reed Richards, Smartest Man, Teferi's Ageless Insight, and The Ten Rings.
