Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black tempo and theft strategy built around cheap, unblockable attackers and combat triggers that steal opposing cards. Early turns focus on deploying evasive 1-drops featuring shadow, fear, or flying, such as Changeling Outcast and Tormented Soul. These attackers reliably connect each combat step to fuel engines like Gix, Yawgmoth Praetor, Gonti, Night Minister, Grim Hireling, and Rev, Tithe Extractor, creating Treasure tokens and exiling playable cards from opponents' libraries. As the game transitions into the mid-game, the deck leverages high mana generation from Cabal Coffers, Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx, and accumulated Treasures to cast high-impact stolen spells alongside curve-toppers like Brainstealer Dragon and Sheoldred // The True Scriptures. Interaction is concentrated in efficient creature and enchantment removal like Deadly Rollick and Withering Torment. Victory is achieved by grinding opponents out of resources and converting stolen threats into lethal board pressure over multiple combat rotations.
