Deck overview

This Dimir deck leverages Vren, the Relentless to turn opponent creature losses into an insurmountable board presence. Vren's static ability permanently exiles all opposing creatures that would die, neutralizing aristocrats, death triggers, and graveyard reanimation across the table. Dense acceleration allows Vren to enter the battlefield early, followed immediately by an extensive suite of low-cost sacrifice effects like Accursed Marauder, Sheoldred's Edict, and Plaguecrafter. Each exiled creature generates a Relentless Rat token at the end step that grows exponentially with every additional Rat in play. Evasion enablers like Cover of Darkness and Piper of the Swarm allow these massive tokens to bypass blockers and close games through combat by Turn 7. As a compact alternate win condition, the deck features the two-card infinite combo of Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog, providing a lethal life-drain finish that bypasses combat entirely.
