Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black control and aristocrats strategy that blends traditional creature sacrifice with custom 'Empower Jace' planeswalker token mechanics. Commanded by Avacyn, Angel of Horror, the deck aims to navigate the early game by developing mana and trading resources using spot removal, discard, and modest artifact ramp. In the mid-game, it establishes engine permanents like Way of the Deathbringer, Sanctum Lurker, and Garruk, Veiled Butcher, using loyalty counters on Jace tokens to draw cards and generate 4/4 Beast tokens. As mana builds, the deck deploys massive high-CMC threats including Archon of Cruelty, Archfiend of Despair, and Avacyn herself. Avacyn provides recursive resilience by returning nontoken creatures to the battlefield at the next end step when they die. The deck steadily exhausts opposing resources through edicts and combat pressure, eventually closing the game through evasive attacks and compounding life drain across several turn cycles.
