Commander: Killian, Ink Duelist

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Killian, Ink Duelist leads an Orzhov "targeting matters" tempo deck built on a simple economy: every spell that targets a creature costs {2} less, and the 99 is packed with cheap cantrips that target creatures to fuel heroic, valiant, magecraft, and repartee triggers. The result is a chain-of-free-spells engine in which Defiant Strike, Gods Willing, and Pressure Point each draw a card while pumping the team, making tokens, recurring creatures, or forcing sacrifices. Phalanx Leader, Stirring Hopesinger, Informed Inkwright, Monastery Mentor, and Leonin Lightscribe convert every cast into counters and bodies. The deck's "loops" are repeatable value loops - Tethmos High Priest re-buys small creatures, Mavinda, Students' Advocate re-casts a spell per turn, and Killian's Confidence returns after combat - rather than infinite combos. It finishes through evasive combat with flying, menace, and double strike, with Show of Confidence as the storm-style payoff.
