Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan midrange build led by Betor, Ancestor's Voice, combining lifegain, life loss, and graveyard reanimation. The strategy establishes early mana and self-mill through cards like Grisly Salvage and Ripples of Undeath to load high-impact creatures into the graveyard. On Turn 5, casting Betor allows you to leverage life-loss enablers such as Doom Whisperer or pain lands to reanimate formidable beaters like Zetalpa, Primal Dawn or Dragonlord Dromoka on your end step. Simultaneously, lifegain triggers place +1/+1 counters across your board, while drain payoffs like Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Sanguine Bond, and Gray Merchant of Asphodel pressure opponent life totals. The deck features highly efficient instant-speed spot removal to disrupt opposing threats. It closes games around Turn 8 through overwhelming aerial combat and compounded life drain.
