Deck overview

This Dimir control deck helmed by Tasha, the Witch Queen fuses spell theft, library mill, and a flavorful witch-coven sacrifice subtheme into an attrition-heavy mid-power engine. The primary game plan focuses on filling opposing graveyards with cards like Court of Cunning, Maddening Cacophony, and Consuming Aberration, then utilizing Tasha's loyalty abilities to exile and freely cast opposing instants and sorceries while generating an army of 3/3 Demon creature tokens. High-impact finishers such as Umbris, Fear Manifest and Phenax, God of Deception turn milled and exiled cards into massive board threats and rapid mill clocks. Robust Dimir interaction, including Mana Drain, Deadly Rollick, and Cyclonic Rift, defends the board and protects key planeswalkers. While the split between Food/witch synergy and theft mill creates minor operational friction, the deck generates consistent card advantage, resilient recovery routes, and strong board presence to outlast and overwhelm the table by Turn 9.
