Deck overview

This deck is an aggressive Izzet discard and wheel deck commanded by Captain Howler, Sea Scourge. The game plan revolves around turning card filtering and wheel effects into massive offensive bursts. When you discard cards to spells like Wheel of Fortune, Windfall, or Tolarian Winds, Captain Howler grants target creature +2/+0 for each discarded card and draws a card upon combat connection. This turns everyday looting into lethal commander damage while triggering group-slug burn from Brallin, Skyshark Rider, Glint-Horn Buccaneer, and Magmakin Artillerist. The list also features a compact two-card combo with Malcolm, Keen-Eyed Navigator and Glint-Horn Buccaneer, capable of generating infinite mana and damage during combat. Resilient recursion through Underworld Breach and Containment Construct ensures discarded resources remain accessible. With free defensive spells like Deflecting Swat and Fierce Guardianship, the deck protects its key turns while applying intense pressure across the entire table.
