Deck overview

This mono-red deck is commanded by Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might, a commander that raises any smaller red noncombat damage instance up to his power (base 4). The deck utilizes a dense package of low-mana pingers such as Firebrand Archer, Coruscation Mage, and Thermo-Alchemist, paired with cheap noncreature spells and symmetrical burn like End the Festivities and Tectonic Hazard. Punisher cards like Manabarbs, Harsh Mentor, and Razorkin Needlehead convert normal opposing game actions into devastating life loss. A robust suite of impulse draw spells ensures continuous spell velocity, while stax pieces like Blood Moon, Magus of the Moon, Cursed Totem, and Vexing Bauble hinder opponent development. If Axonil is destroyed, his built-in transformation into Temple of Power provides fast engine recovery to quickly resume lethal pressure.
