Deck overview

This Sultai deck is a dedicated tribal midrange strategy centered on Xavier Sal, Infested Captain, Fungi, and spore counters. The primary game plan develops early Thallids to accumulate spore counters, using Xavier Sal to proliferate counters and populate Saproling creature tokens. Once the board reaches critical mass, cards like Thelon of Havenwood, Mycoloth, Slimefoot, the Stowaway, and Overwhelming Stampede convert tokens and counters into overwhelming combat damage and life drain. Card advantage is sustained through engines like Psychotrope Thallid, Danny Pink, and large draw spells such as Shamanic Revelation. While the deck features strong internal synergy and resilient token production, its reliance on upkeep triggers and tap-land friction creates a deliberate pace that leaves it exposed to sweepers.
