Deck overview

This deck is a focused Dimir Reanimator control strategy commanded by Taskmaster, Mercenary Mimic. The game plan revolves around rapidly placing massive, game-warping creatures—such as Archon of Cruelty, Jin-Gitaxias, Core Augur, Hullbreaker Horror, and Ancient Silver Dragon—into the graveyard using efficient tutors like Entomb, Buried Alive, and Unmarked Grave alongside cheap looting spells. On turns 3 to 4, the deck cheats these threats onto the battlefield using low-mana reanimation spells like Reanimate, Animate Dead, and Persist, or copies them straight from the graveyard via Taskmaster. Once deployed, these engines establish oppressive asymmetric control: stripping opponent hands, countering spells, and decimating opposing boards while generating massive card velocity. The deck protects its setup with efficient 1-to-2 mana interaction and recovers easily from removal before finishing opponents through overwhelming combat damage and recurring drain by Turn 7.
