Deck overview

This is an Orzhov aristocrats/lifegain deck built around Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, where creature ETBs, deaths, and life-gain triggers are all converted into table-wide drain. The primary game plan is to establish a token engine such as Bitterblossom, Jadar, Ghoulcaller of Nephalia, or Skrelv's Hive, churn out creatures, and grind with Blood Artist-style payoffs. The deck can pivot quickly into an infinite life-gain/life-loss combo by pairing Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, Marauding Blight-Priest, Starscape Cleric, or Enduring Tenacity with either Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. A secondary attrition route uses Grave Pact, Dictate of Erebos, and board wipes like Meathook Massacre II to force sacrifices while every death drains the table. The commander is a strong early trigger, but the 99 carries enough redundant drain and combo pieces that the deck does not depend on her.
