Deck overview

This deck leverages Toph, the First Metalbender to pilot an aggressive, resilient land-animation strategy. Toph turns nontoken artifacts into lands and turns lands into 0/0 hasty creature lands with +1/+1 counters that return to the battlefield if they die or are exiled. The deck ramps aggressively on turns 1-2, establishes Toph on turn 3-4, and rapidly compounds +1/+1 counters using cards like Ozolith, the Shattered Spire and The Earth Crystal. Because Toph turns nontoken artifacts into lands, symmetric sweepers such as Hour of Revelation and Cataclysmic Gearhulk act as devastating one-sided wipes that leave the pilot's entire board intact.
