Commander: Satoru Umezawa

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Satoru Umezawa leads a ninjutsu tempo deck that turns any cheap attacker into a discount on seven-to-nine-mana monsters. The core loop is to attack with a reusable unblockable creature, pay {2}{U}{B}, put a game-warping fatty onto the battlefield tapped and attacking, and use Satoru's trigger to dig three cards deep. The secondary plan is a modest reanimation and theft package: Port of Karfell, Victimize, Scion of Darkness, and Zareth San recover lost threats. There is no hidden commander; Gyruda is only an extra reanimation effect. The finish is usually a growing army of Myr tokens, Demon copies, or stolen creatures rather than a combo. The deck is resilient to spot removal but critically depends on Satoru staying on the battlefield.
