Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug and Combo engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The strategy revolves around deploying cheap, continuous life-loss permanents early in the game to ensure opponents lose life during each of their turns. This continuously triggers Valgavoth, growing the commander into a massive flying threat while drawing three extra cards per table cycle. The substantial card advantage fuels smooth land drops and digs rapidly into protective spells, interaction, and win conditions. The deck finishes games either through overwhelming flying combat damage accelerated by damage multipliers like Bloodletter of Aclazotz, or through deterministic two-card infinite combos such as Exquisite Blood paired with Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose or Bloodthirsty Conqueror. With efficient free interaction and tax pieces that penalize opposing card draw and spell casting, the deck consistently dictates the game tempo.
