Deck overview

This Abzan deck uses Tayam, Luminous Enigma to pilot a resilient graveyard recursion and +1/+1 counters combo-aristocrats strategy. By leveraging Tayam's passive vigilance counter distribution, the deck accumulates counters across low-cost creatures to fuel Tayam's activated ability. This ability mills three cards and reanimates any permanent card with mana value 3 or less at instant speed. A dense suite of 1-drop and 2-drop mana dorks ensures Tayam enters the battlefield ahead of curve on Turn 3. The deck scales its engine through synergy pieces like Good-Fortune Unicorn, Insidious Roots, and Young Wolf, while utilizing flexible sacrifice outlets such as Phyrexian Altar and Bartolomé del Presidio. Once assembled around Turn 6, the deck loops reanimations to generate infinite mill and mana, closing the game immediately through Zulaport Cutthroat life drain. Excellent removal versatility and instant-speed reanimation shields provide solid resilience, though the lack of direct tutors requires digging through mill volume.
