Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Treasure-synergy engine commanded by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan revolves around accelerating Smaug out ahead of curve to harvest Treasure tokens based on opposing artifact counts, then leveraging Smaug's card draw ability whenever Treasure mana is spent. A dense suite of token payoffs—such as Mirkwood Bats, Agent of the Iron Throne, and Weftstalker Ardent—converts artifact generation and sacrifice into massive direct damage against all opponents. Temporary creature copiers like Twinflame, Heat Shimmer, and Jaxis, the Troublemaker create additional enters-the-battlefield triggers while triggering sacrifice drains. As a compact alternate win condition, the deck packs the classic Dualcaster Mage and Twinflame infinite token combo. While the deck boasts explosive draw power and scaling burn, its interactive suite is thin, making it vulnerable to well-timed board wipes and fast combo decks.
