Deck overview

This Orzhov deck leverages extreme life manipulation, weaponizing the pilot's own life total through Mister Negative. The primary game plan revolves around accelerating mana to cast the commander, reducing the pilot's life total to a precarious baseline with enablers like Wall of Blood or Blood Celebrant, and executing a life exchange that leaves an opponent at the brink of defeat while drawing dozens of cards. Supporting enchantments and creatures such as Teleportation Circle and Ephemerate repeat this exchange across subsequent turns to dismantle the rest of the table. A dedicated suite of life-loss safety nets—including Angel's Grace, Phyrexian Unlife, and The Golden Throne—ensures the pilot survives suicide-black activations and counter-attacks. Backed by premier Orzhov removal like Swords to Plowshares, Toxic Deluge, and Anguished Unmaking, the deck maintains board control while engineering explosive, non-combat victories.
