Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black stax and attrition strategy designed around Tergrid, God of Fright. The game plan focuses on deploying early mana ramp to cast Tergrid ahead of curve, then immediately resolving symmetric discard and sacrifice spells such as Dark Deal, Pox, and Rankle's Prank. Tergrid converts every discarded permanent card and sacrificed nontoken permanent into your own battlefield resources, creating an overwhelming board presence while emptying opponents' hands. Stax pieces like Oppression, Desolation, and Smokestack lock down the table and prevent recovery. The deck secures victory by overwhelming opponents with stolen armies, draining them out with Painful Quandary and Raiders' Wake, or executing a compact two-card infinite life drain combo with Professor Onyx and Chain of Smog.
