Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is commanded by Rivaz of the Claw, centering on dragon tribal synergies, mana ramp, cost reduction, and graveyard recursion. The primary plan leverages Rivaz's mana acceleration to deploy high-impact Dragons 1 to 2 turns ahead of curve, starting on Turn 4. From there, snowball threats such as Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Utvara Hellkite, and Terror of the Peaks rapidly compound battlefield presence and close the game through overwhelming aerial combat damage alongside direct burn. While the deck boasts resilient recursive lines through Rivaz and cards like Bladewing the Risen, it relies primarily on combat steps and lacks instant-win combos. Interaction is solid with premium spot removal like Deadly Rollick and asymmetric wipes like Crux of Fate, but the strategy remains vulnerable to targeted removal during setup windows and grave hate that limits Rivaz's second ability.
