Format: Commander

Commander: Ozai, the Phoenix King

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Ozai, the Phoenix King is a red-black firebending combo-aggro deck. The primary plan is to ramp or ritual into Ozai early, use his haste and firebending 4 to bank unspent red mana, then cast a power-doubling spell plus double strike and two extra-combat spells, turning three Ozai attacks into 28 commander damage each and eliminating all opponents. Secondary paths use other firebending attackers to generate mana and card draw, with Apex of Power and Past in Flames as burst recovery. There is no hidden or double-faced commander; the transformed Fire Lord Sozin is only a saga payoff, not the general.
