Deck overview

Etrata, Deadly Fugitive helms a Dimir Assassin tribal deck centered on aggressive combat triggers, face-down cloaking, and spell theft. The deck deploys low-curve Assassins and evasion enablers in the early turns, establishing Etrata on Turn 3 and attacking by Turn 4 to cloak cards from opponents' libraries as 2/2 creatures with ward 2. As the face-down army expands, Etrata's activated ability turns these cloaked cards face up or casts noncreatures without paying mana costs, converting opponents' best spells into decisive board advantage. Finishing lines capitalize on asymmetric combat swing cards, including Ramses, Assassin Lord's alternate win condition, life-halving hits from Virtus the Veiled and Unstoppable Slasher, and one-sided board wipes like Raise the Palisade. Robust Dimir interaction protects the engine and disrupts opposing threats, though the deck relies heavily on combat connections and sustained board presence to close out games.
