Deck overview

Betor, Ancestor's Voice helms an Abzan lifegain and reanimation combo deck that balances life manipulation with lethal drain loops. The primary win condition revolves around uniting Bloodthirsty Conqueror with a lifegain-triggered drain piece such as Dina, Soul Steeper, Marauding Blight-Priest, or Sanguine Bond. The deck uses low-cost tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive to place high-impact creatures directly into the graveyard, while utilizing painlands, self-harm spells, and Phyrexian mana to enable Betor's end-step reanimation ability. This creates explosive turns where game-ending threats return to play without paying heavy mana costs. In games where the infinite combo is delayed, the deck seamlessly transitions into an aggressive midrange strategy powered by Blossoming Bogbeast, Felidar Sovereign, and massive counter accumulation from Heliod, Sun-Crowned. Robust protection spells like Teferi's Protection and Heroic Intervention safeguard key pieces during critical assembly turns.
