Deck overview

This mono-black deck is helmed by Tinybones, Pocket Nuisance, focusing on aggressive hand depletion, continuous life drain, and asymmetric stax locks. The core strategy revolves around deploying low-cost discard enablers like Burglar Rat and Dark Deal alongside punishing permanents such as Liliana's Caress, Waste Not, and Oppression. As opponents lose cards, the commander and accompanying burn enchantments whittle down life totals while generating significant card advantage and mana surplus. The deck converts card advantage into insurmountable board states using Tergrid, God of Fright to steal discarded permanents, or finishes the game rapidly through an infinite Bloodchief Ascension and Mindcrank mill-drain loop. Auxiliary infect enablers like Phyresis and Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon provide alternative pressure points. While the deck dominates slower, creature-reliant pods through sustained attrition and resilient recursion, it exhibits vulnerability to early noncreature sweepers and lacks instant-speed stack interaction against fast combo.
