Deck overview

Yuma, Proud Protector rewards putting lands into the graveyard and turns Desert cards into 4/2 Plant Warriors. The deck supports that plan with cycling Deserts, land-sacrifice effects, land tutors, and recursion from Ramunap Excavator, Ancient Greenwarden, World Shaper, and Splendid Reclamation. Its strongest turns combine a recovered land mass with Avenger of Zendikar, Rampaging Baloths, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Scute Swarm, or Desert Warfare. The main problem is timing and access. Yuma, Proud Protector is expensive even after cost reduction, many lands enter tapped, and the deck has few ways to find the exact payoff and protection together. It can build a powerful board around turn 8 or later, but that board is not a reliable table kill or lock. Interaction is mainly creature removal, artifact and enchantment removal, and protective instants, with no meaningful stack package. The deck is therefore a focused casual landfall engine rather than a compact combo or competitive control deck.
