Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Grixis spellslinger strategy helmed by Saruman, the White Hand. It converts noncreature spell velocity into rapid battlefield presence by amassing a massive Orc Army while simultaneously burning opponents through cards like Fiery Inscription, Guttersnipe, and Black Waltz No. 3. Low-cost cantrips and ramp accelerate setup, allowing Saruman to hit the board on Turn 3 and immediately begin generating value. The deck finishes games through explosive combat buffs like Assault on Osgiliath, Orcish Siegemaster, and Isengard Unleashed, or via a compact infinite combo with Dualcaster Mage and Electroduplicate. A robust interaction suite of cheap counterspells and efficient removal keeps opposing threats in check, while ward {2}, Lazotep Plating, and Lightning Greaves shield key permanents from removal.
