Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan midrange build centered on Ghave, Guru of Spores. It merges +1/+1 counter distribution with token generation and aristocrat life drain. Early turns focus on accelerating mana with 1-drop creatures and land ramp. Once Ghave enters the battlefield, the deck converts mana into 1/1 green Saproling tokens and redistributes counters to rapidly grow its board. Counter multipliers like Corpsejack Menace, Hardened Scales, and Sigil Captain amplify this resource loop. The deck draws cards in large bursts using Skullclamp, Inspiring Call, and death-trigger engines like Deathreap Ritual. To close out games, it grants trample to its large creatures through Duskshell Crawler or Sphere Grid and drains opponents with Mirkwood Bats, Bastion of Remembrance, and Zulaport Cutthroat. Highly efficient removal spells like Assassin's Trophy and Anguished Unmaking keep opposing threats in check throughout the match.
