Budget Azula by Fredrikie

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This Grixis spellslinger deck is built entirely around Fire Lord Azula's attack-trigger copy ability. The plan is to get Azula into combat, use the firebending mana ({R}{R} per attack) to fuel instant-speed spells, and copy them for massive cumulative value. The list is packed with cheap rituals, treasure-makers, and cost reducers to chain spells in a single combat. Recurring key pieces via Mizzix's Mastery and Invoke Calamity generates additional copies. The primary win condition is overwhelming burn from copied Electrodominance or Magma Opus; combat through pumped tokens is a secondary path. The deck is a fragile tempo engine - it must resolve its commander, connect in combat, and fire off a critical mass of spells without disruption. It runs no infinite combos and has very few tutors, relying on raw draw and self-recurrence to find its tools.
