Deck overview

This Grixis midrange deck harnesses Sauron, the Dark Lord to turn opposing actions into an aggressive, scaling board presence. Built around the Amass Orcs and The Ring Tempts You mechanics from The Lord of the Rings, the deck accelerates into its commander by Turn 5 using efficient artifact ramp. Once Sauron enters the battlefield, opponents feed your Army whenever they cast spells. In combat, connecting with an Army triggers the Ring temptation, letting you discard your current hand to draw four fresh cards. This massive card flow fuels continuous removal, countermagic, and evasion enablers such as The Black Gate and Rogue's Passage. While vulnerable to mass exile wipes and lacking infinite combo finishes, the deck grinds down the table through resilient Ward protection, unblockable commander damage, and wide token attrition, reliably closing the game by Turn 9.
