Deck overview

This Golgari Superfriends deck is helmed by Carth the Lion, who acts as both a card-advantage engine and a powerful loyalty modifier. By increasing loyalty activation costs by [+1], Carth effectively discounts minus abilities, allowing 5-loyalty planeswalkers such as Garruk, Cursed Huntsman and Professor Dellian Fel to activate game-altering ultimate abilities the very turn they enter the battlefield. The deck leverages dense early green ramp to deploy Carth on Turn 3 and high-impact walkers on Turn 4 and 5. A robust suite of combat fogs like Obscuring Haze, Darkness, and Arachnogenesis shields the planeswalker cadre from opposing attacks while Beast and Wolf token armies amass. Win conditions stem from permanent emblem buffs, Vorinclex, Monstrous Raider counter doubling, and overrun effects from Garruk Wildspeaker and End-Raze Forerunners, reliably closing out the game around Turn 7.
