Deck overview

This Abzan deck is a toughness-matters strategy helmed by Felothar the Steadfast, whose static ability lets every creature assign combat damage equal to its toughness and attack past defender, while his activated ability converts high-toughness, low-power creatures into card draw. The deck runs a dense package of redundant toughness enablers - Assault Formation, Bedrock Tortoise, Baldin, Century Herdmaster, The Kingpin of Crime, and Doran, Besieged by Time - alongside a wall of high-butted defenders and beaters like Indomitable Ancients and Canopy Gargantuan. Primary wins come from overwhelming combat damage, with a secondary combo channel built around Tree of Perdition pairing with Triskaidekaphobia or Wound Reflection, plus Betor, Kin to All's life-halving end-step trigger as a finisher. The commander is a draw engine and combat enabler, but the theme is spread across the 99.
