Commander: Ob Nixilis, Unshackled

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black library-disruption and torment deck built around Ob Nixilis, Unshackled as a punishing deterrent against the tutor-heavy nature of Commander. The primary plan is to strip opponents' libraries of key cards using a dense suite of "name a card, exile all copies" sorceries such as Praetor's Grasp, Sadistic Sacrament, and Nightmare Incursion, while also deploying effects like Maralen of the Mornsong and Mornsong Aria to force searches that trigger Ob Nixilis's sacrifice-and-life-loss ability. Swamp-based mana acceleration (Cabal Coffers, Crypt Ghast, Magus of the Coffers) powers the high-cost disruption spells and eventually fuels a slow combat clock via Ob Nixilis and other big demons. The deck has no infinite combos and relies entirely on grinding opponents out through attrition, library exile, and incremental combat damage.
