Deck overview

This deck executes an Orzhov lifegain and group-slug strategy led by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. It accelerates mana on early turns to deploy low-cost lifegain permanents like Soul Warden and Blind Obedience before landing Liesa on Turn 4. Liesa immediately imposes a 2-life tax on every spell cast, punishing storm, spellslinger, and fast-combo strategies while bypassing commander tax through life payments. The deck breaks parity through heavy lifelink combat, life doubling via Rhox Faithmender, and sustained attrition from Kambal, Consul of Allocation and Painful Quandary. While grinding down opponents, the deck digs toward deterministic two-card infinite life-drain combos pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with drain permanents like Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Marauding Blight-Priest for a same-turn table elimination on Turn 6.
