Deck overview

This deck is a focused Dimir tribal reanimator strategy commanded by Runo Stromkirk. The primary game plan is to place a high-mana sea monster into the graveyard or on top of the library, cast Runo on Turn 3, and transform him into Krothuss, Lord of the Deep on Turn 4 upkeep. Once transformed, Krothuss attacks alongside a reanimated sea monster to create two tapped and attacking token copies. When paired with high-impact creatures like Spawning Kraken, Scourge of Fleets, or Junk Winder, this attack generates overwhelming token armies or completely resets opposing boards. The deck supports this game plan with low-cost ramp, efficient graveyard tutors like Entomb and Buried Alive, and asymmetric bounce spells like Whelming Wave that leave sea monsters unaffected. Opponents face extreme combat pressure on Turn 4 and must find a sweeper within one turn cycle before facing lethal damage on Turn 5.
