Deck overview

This deck is an Izzet spellslinger and artifact token swarm strategy commanded by Saheeli, Jewel of Avishkar. The game plan revolves around casting low-mana noncreature cantrips and utility spells to trigger Saheeli's ability, creating an expansive army of 1/1 flying Thopter tokens with built-in haste. These artifact creatures immediately apply aerial combat pressure while triggering potent burn engines like Ingenious Artillerist, Molten Gatekeeper, and Guttersnipe to drain opponents' life totals in parallel. Card velocity engines like Archmage Emeritus and Archmage of Runes ensure hands remain replenished during extended casting sequences. The deck controls the board using asymmetric interaction such as Perplexing Test and Junk Winder, tapping down opposing blockers and resetting opposing boards while keeping Thopters intact. With steady land drops, redundant pingers, and unblockable finishers like Kappa Cannoneer, the deck reliably establishes its token engine on Turn 4, achieves lethal onset by Turn 6, and closes out games by Turn 8.
