Deck overview

This deck is a mono-green big mana stompy strategy piloted by Gargos, Vicious Watcher. It uses a dense suite of one-mana ramp spells and multi-mana dorks to consistently deploy Gargos on Turn 4. Once assembled, Gargos provides an imposing 8/7 vigilance body, reduces all Hydra spell costs by {4}, and turns any targeted spell or Aura into a one-sided creature fight. This allows the deck to flood the board on Turn 5 with massive discounted threats like Kalonian Hydra, Voracious Hydra, and Goldvein Hydra while systematically fighting down opposing commanders and blockers. Power-based card draw engines like Garruk's Uprising, Return of the Wildspeaker, and The Great Henge maintain a full grip. The deck cleanly closes the game on Turns 6 and 7 through overwhelming trample damage, counter multiplication, or a lethal Triumph of the Hordes overrun.
