Fire Lord Azula - Budget Storm by erosiccu

Format: Commander

Commander: Fire Lord Azula

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a spell-slinging copy deck helmed by Fire Lord Azula, built to leverage her attack-triggered copy mechanic into overwhelming value and storm-like finishes. The primary plan is to deploy Azula, attack to generate red mana via firebending, then chain instant and sorcery spells during combat, each one being copied by her ability. A dense package of cost reducers (Stormcatch Mentor, Goblin Electromancer, Nightscape Familiar, Thunderclap Drake) and rituals (Dark Ritual, Pyretic Ritual) enables explosive turns. The deck wins by either generating a massive storm count with Prismari, the Inspiration or Thousand-Year Storm to copy a burn spell like Lightning Strike or Shock dozens of times, or by pumping a creature with Fists of Flame and Bulk Up for lethal commander damage. Extra combat spells (Savage Beating, Great Train Heist) allow Azula to attack multiple times per turn, each time copying new spells and generating additional mana.
