Deck overview

This deck is an Esper artifact token midrange strategy commanded by Soundwave, Sonic Spy // Soundwave, Superior Captain. The game plan revolves around casting odd- and even-costed spells to alternate Soundwave's forms and generate Laserbeak (evasive hexproof) and Ravage (menace deathtouch) tokens. When these tokens deal combat damage, Soundwave casts matching instants and sorceries from opponents' graveyards for free. The deck leverages heavy artifact density to scale threats through cards like Cranial Plating, All That Glitters, Master of Etherium, and Urza, Chief Artificer. Interaction includes flexible exile removal, targeted countermagic, and asymmetric sweepers like Hour of Reckoning. While vulnerable to mass artifact and creature wipes, redundant token generators and resilient robot tokens provide dependable pressure and steady resource generation across turn cycles.
