Historical Replication ($10) by frozenskittles

Format: Commander

Commander: Ian Chesterton

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Ian Chesterton is an unassuming mono-white value engine, turning every Saga you cast into a copy via replicate. The deck leans hard into historic-matters synergies-Sagas, legendary creatures, and artifacts-generating card advantage through repeatable draw (Sarah Jane Smith, Mesa Enchantress) and board presence through token-producing Sagas (Three Blind Mice, Summon: Choco/Mog). With no infinite combos evident, its path to victory is incremental: assemble a board of tokens and transformed Sagas, protect key pieces with indestructible-granting instants, and eventually overwhelm opponents with creature count and selective removal. The deck's primary weakness is speed-it takes several turns to establish its engine-and it relies heavily on the commander to double its most powerful Saga triggers, though the 99 still functions as a modest enchantment-value pile without him. **Primer:** **Core Strategy:** 1. **Develop mana acceleration:** Play early Sagas like The Birth of Meletis for ramp and a wall token, or use Marble Diamond and Burnished Hart for fixing. 2. **Deploy Ian Chesterton:** Cast the commander on turn 2-3 to start copying Saga spells-this doubles the value of every Saga…
