Deck overview

This deck is a political Mardu Aikido and forced-combat control deck commanded by Mathas, Fiend Seeker. The strategy focuses on incentivizing and forcing opponents to attack and eliminate one another while keeping your own life total protected behind pillowfort barriers and combat redirection spells. In the early game, the deck establishes mana fixing, deploys Mathas to distribute bounty counters, and uses symmetrical card draw like Secret Rendezvous and Cut a Deal to smooth land drops and curry favor. Mid-game turns involve gifting tokens via cards like Hunted Dragon or Clackbridge Troll and forcing combat through goad effects such as Disrupt Decorum and Kardur, Doomscourge. When opponents attempt to swing in your direction, aikido spells like Inkshield, Deflecting Palm, and Comeuppance punish them severely. The game concludes on turns 7 to 8 by casting decisive finishers like Taunt from the Rampart or Insurrection to wipe out the remaining players.
