Deck overview

This Atraxa, Praetors' Voice deck is a dedicated Phyrexian Toxic and Proliferate midrange strategy. Its primary objective is to infect all three opponents with initial poison counters during the opening turns through low-cost toxic creatures or non-combat spells, then deploy Atraxa on Turn 4 to passively proliferate each turn cycle. The deck bypasses traditional 40-life totals entirely, winning by stacking ten poison counters through compounded proliferation and evasive attacks. Midgame advantage is sustained through corrupted payoffs like Ixhel, Scion of Atraxa and Ezuri, Stalker of Spheres, which replenish hand size whenever proliferation occurs. The removal suite cleanly synergizes with the core mechanic, utilizing cards like Drown in Ichor and Wanderer's Strike to eliminate opposing threats while accelerating the poison clock. While the deck possesses resilient alternative engines and potent combat deterrents, its lack of stack interaction and reliance on creature permanents make it vulnerable to well-timed board sweepers.
