Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages The Serpent Society as both a defensive rattlesnake and an asymmetric stax engine. Supported by high-density fast mana and efficient tutors, the deck deploys cheap deathtouch creatures early to establish board control. When your deathtouch creatures block, trade, or are sacrificed, The Serpent Society forces each opponent to sacrifice a nontoken creature, breaking parity and keeping opposing boards clear. The commander's Ward ability punishes targeted removal by inflicting five poison counters on the caster, quickly putting opponents in range of secondary poison finishers like Fynn, the Fangbearer and Triumph of the Hordes. To close out games decisively, the deck utilizes an infinite two-card combo between Bloodthirsty Conqueror and South Wind Avatar, which drains the entire table of life simultaneously. Robust reanimation and low-cost interaction ensure the deck remains resilient throughout the game.
