Deck overview

This mono-black deck is led by Kuroki, Thief of Talents and implements an attrition-heavy discard strategy paired with voltron-style combat finishing. The deck's primary game plan focuses on tearing apart opponents' hands using symmetrical and repeatable discard effects like Bottomless Pit, Delirium Skeins, and Mindslicer. While opponents struggle with empty hands and topdeck variance, Kuroki forces a punishing choice each end step: grant Kuroki +1/+1 counters, or let the pilot cast a stolen spell for free from their refilled hand. Win conditions stem from scaling beaters like Kuroki, The Haunt of Hightower, and Tourach, Dread Cantor, backed by direct life loss from Liliana's Caress, Megrim, and Painful Quandary. While resilient against single-target threats thanks to redundant beaters and protective equipment, the deck's lack of tutoring and reliance on incremental combat makes closing the game an deliberate, multi-turn endeavor.
