Deck overview

This Grolnok, the Omnivore deck is a dedicated Simic self-mill combo deck designed to empty its own library and win through Thassa's Oracle or Laboratory Maniac. The primary game plan uses green mana dorks and low-cost ramp spells to cast Grolnok on Turn 3. On Turn 4, the deck deploys Cephalid Illusionist and Shuko. By repeatedly equipping Shuko to Cephalid Illusionist for zero mana, the deck mills its entire library, triggering Grolnok to exile all milled permanents with croak counters. The deck then casts Thassa's Oracle directly from croak exile to secure an instant, same-turn victory. Secondary routes include the Painter's Servant and Grindstone combo as well as Leveler. The deck protects its combo with a dense package of low-mana counterspells and hexproof protection spells while using blue cantrips and specific tutors to assemble its pieces consistently. The strategy operates at high efficiency, requiring minimal mana once the core engine is assembled.
