Deck overview

This is a mono-red Treasure-burn deck helmed by Smaug the Magnificent. The game plan is to pile up as many Treasure tokens as possible, then convert the hoard into direct damage through Smaug's haste-enabled attack trigger - every swing deals damage equal to the number of Treasures you control. The deck is exceptionally redundant at producing Treasures, with over a dozen interchangeable generators such as Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer, Goldspan Dragon, Professional Face-Breaker, and Ancient Copper Dragon. Secondary damage comes from artifact-ETB pingers like Reckless Fireweaver and HYDRA Assault Robot, plus big hasty dragons and Magda, Brazen Outlaw tutoring directly onto the battlefield. Smaug is the primary payoff, but the deck can still function as a generic red dragon/value deck through The Fire Crystal, Fable of the Mirror-Breaker, and treasure-fueled mana advantage.
