Deck overview

The Gitrog Monster deck is built to turn the commander into a one-card draw engine. The primary plan is to resolve The Gitrog Monster early, pair it with Dakmor Salvage and a discard outlet, then use repeated dredges to generate an unstoppable loop. Polluted Cistern // Dim Oubliette and Grist, the Hunger Tide exist as the main mill payoffs, while Kozilek and Ulamog provide shuffling resets and eventual Eldrazi beatdown. Grist acts as the hidden commander: it is a creature-card when searched from the library, so creature tutors can find it, and it drains when the graveyard is full. Secondary paths include value-loops with lifecycle, Six, Ramunap Excavator, and insect armies. Without the commander, the deck loses most of its draw-based engine, so the early plan is to make sure Gitrog resolves and stays.
