Deck overview

This Esper deck leverages The Ur-Sphinx to pilot a high-synergy kindred battlecruiser strategy. From Turn 1, the commander's eminence ability grants a passive one-mana discount to all Sphinx spells, allowing the deck to accelerate through its expensive mana curve without needing to cast its 9-mana commander early. Supported by dedicated kindred reducers like Urza's Incubator, Herald's Horn, and Heartless Summoning, the deck establishes Unesh, Criosphinx Sovereign on Turn 5 to chain mini Fact or Fiction triggers with every creature cast. This fuels a dominant aerial fleet including Magister Sphinx, Sphinx of the Second Sun, and Tivit, Seller of Secrets that creates lethal combat pressure by Turn 6. Supported by asymmetric kindred wipes like Raise the Palisade and Kindred Judgment, as well as versatile spot removal and countermagic, the deck systematically dismantles opposing boards while closing the game in two combat cycles.
